The Communion Table

The Communion Table in Ardwell Church

The Communion Silver was the gift of Sir Mark and Lady McTaggart Stewart in April 1903. Amongst the chairs behind the Communion Table are an armchair bearing a memorial to Sir Mark McTaggart Stewart along with six matching dining chairs all made of English oak. These were a gift from Sir Edward McTaggart Stewart in memory of his father. There is also a chair commemorating the death of William Hugh Kirkpatrick presented to Stoneykirk Church by his family and brought here on the closure.
